Welcome to LISLA

The Long Island School Library Association (LISLA), formerly SSLMA, is the local affiliate for New York Library Association - Section of School Librarians (NYLA - SSL). 

LISLA serves at the behest of its members, offering help and support with keeping up with changes in learning standards, technology, pedagogy, and mandates.  LISLA provides for professional networking and social opportunities. LISLA advocates for school librarians, offers grants for worthy technology and library projects, and awards to ​administrators and librarians every year who exemplify best practice.
